The ENC solution for the Professional MarinerThe C-MAP ENC product is composed of exclusively official ENC, produced and
approved by Official Hydrographic Offices. The data is compiled and verified by
Jeppesen and distributed on a type approved SENC format, ready to be installed
on an approved ECDIS. The Jeppesen SENC format is supported by the majority of
the ECDIS systems.
The distribution service is authorized and complies with all official
regulations and requirements related to distribution and usage of official ENC.
An approved ECDIS combined with C-MAP ENC makes ECDIS navigation possible as a
replacement for paper-charts.
Based on this, paperless navigation can be realized with C-MAP ENC installed on
a type approved ECDIS together with an approved backup solution. Using C-MAP
ENC, supplemented with the C-MAP Professional or Professional+ chart databases
in areas that are not covered by ENC, will provide for the best digital chart
coverage. This concept is known as 'Dual-Fuel'.
ENC UpdatingThe database, from which the C-MAP ENC product is made, is
continuously updated by implementing all new cells, new editions of cells and
updates that are issued by the producing Hydrographic Office.
Depending on the customer's need, technical outfit and communication capacity,
ENC subscribers can choose from 3 different options to keep their onboard
database updated:
- C-MAP Update Service CD/DVD
- C-MAP Update Service Online
- C-MAP Update Service Online+
Subscribers, who choose C-MAP Update Service CD/DVD, will receive all updates
and new charts on a CD or DVD frequently. The customer decides the rate.
By choosing C-MAP Update Service Online, the customer will be able to receive
all NtM-updates via online communication, while new charts and new edition of
charts have to be distributed on CD or DVD via ordinary mail.
C-MAP Update Service Online+ enables the customers to download all updates,
including new charts, via online connection.
